SDSU Leadership Certificate Program
Student Life and Leadership

 

The Leadership Certificate Program is available to SDSU students at any class level and is offered by the Office of Student Life and Leadership.  It allows students to work at their own pace to gain leadership experience, serve the surrounding community, and attend exciting leadership retreats and conferences. 

There are five main sections to the completing the Certificate, which include:

  • Workshops

  • Leadership Programs

  • Leadership Service

  • Leadership Role

  • Reflection

SafeZones Ally Training

"The mission of the Certified Ally Training Program is to inform participants how to provide an accepting and supportive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, intersex, and questioning students, faculty, staff and their allies. The program teaches you about LGBTQIA issues, support referrals and how to improve our campus climate. "

RE SPECTRUM COMMUNITY

Description of organization: 

Re Spectrum Community is a 501c3 Non-Profit operating in San Diego developed to assist and guide families in creating change, both within their immediate families and among the autism community, through therapeutic support and community activities for the whole family. Re Spectrum Community is dedicated to achieving social justice, by way of Re-enabling a community of people that may have been rendered disabled, disordered, disconnected or disassociated from their larger communities because of a label or due to a diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Re Spectrum Community offers recreation programs throughout San Diego which combine ABA methodologies and basic skills training to assist ALL children and members of the family in creating an active, responsible lifestyle. Murdock Elementary

SDSU STUDENT VOLUNTEER

 

Description of duties: 

Working with students in the classroom providing one-on-one academic support to those students with limited English proficiency. The students may also need to be pulled out of the classroom at times, depending on the situation and what is happening in the classroom. If this happens, the volunteer will be under the supervision of an instructional aide in a smaller, intervention classroom.

Working with the teacher to understand the specific needs of the student, and then working with the teacher on providing a curriculum that is specific to the needs of that student.

Occasionally working in a small group setting with several English Learner students with similar academic and language needs.

 

Schedule and hours: any time between 8:10 – 2:50.

Tuesdays are minimum days and so the hours are 8:10 – 1:35.

Time keeping system: We have a log-in system and a computer system at the front of the office
