We heard from Randi Cowdery, PhD, MFT about her experiences in the Marriage and Family Therapy field and her work as a professor at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, as well as her educational pathway.

Getting Involved in Research Panel

We received an information session from undergraduate and graduate students involved in psychological research here at SDSU.

Azusa Pacific University

We heard from Dr Aimee Vadnais about her experience with MFT and doctoral programs, the programs in general, and the specifics of graduate programs at Azusa Pacific.

Biopsychospiritual Psychology

We heard from Francesca Paretta of the California Institute of Human Science in Encinitas, CA about her experience at the school and the discipline of Biopsychospiritual Psychology.

Forensic Psychology

We heard from Dr Glenn Lipson about the discipline of Forensic Psychology and his work in the field.

Rehabilitation Counseling

We heard from Dr Nan Zhang Hampton and Tonetta Smith, MS about their journeys in the Rehabilitation Counseling field, the discipline itself, and the RCP program at SDSU.

Neuropsych Presentation

We heard from Dr Paul Gilbert about his educational and career path and the field of Neuropsychology.

Alliant I/O Presentation

We received a presentation from I/O psychologist Dr Nicholas Aramovich of Alliant University regarding his background and the discipline of Industrial Organizational Psychology.

Applied Behavior Analysis

We received a presentation from Kara Lee and Alejandra Hardesty of Coyne & Associates ABA intervention service for children with autism and other developmental delays. They discussed what being a Board Certified Behavior Analyst is like and explained the practice of Applied Behavior Analysis.

SDSU Well-being and Health Promotion Presentation

We received a presentation from James Lange who works in SDSU's office of Well-being and Health Promotion. He talked about his background in Social Psychology as well as his research on Drug and Alcohol Usage.

Day of the Dead Social

After a couple rounds of an ice breaker game, we watched a video about the Day of the Dead and the culture surrounding it while painting pumpkins and decorating cookies together.

WPA Conference Panel

We heard from a group of some of our officers and Dr Vaughn who have all attended the Western Psychological Association conference in Portland last year. They discussed their experiences at the conference and the reasons why others should attend this year's event in Pasadena, California in April 2019.

The Chicago School of Professional Psychology Presentation

Two speakers at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, one who works in the Industrial Organizational field and another who works in Applied Clinical Psychology, gave us an informative presentation on their career and educational paths.

Alliant University Presentation

We received a presentation from three faculty members at Alliant University who discussed their educational and professional background as well as their roles at the university.

Interactive TED Talk and Anti-Stress Activity Session

Watched a TED talk video from Kelly McGonigal, a health psychologist, about stress while creating stress balls. We then wrote our stressors down and provided advice on how to tackle them.

GRE Presentation with Michael Flynn

We had Michael Flynn from Grad Pros Educational Counseling come and talk to us about how to prepare for the GRE. He also gave us tips and tricks on how to succeed when taking the test.

Dr. Kraft came in to speak about her experience and journey as an Army veteran, SDSU Alum, and doctoral student in the SDSU/UCSD Joint Doctoral Program that led to her specializing in Behavior Therapy.

We heard from Susan Tillman, the Office Manager, and Catherine Pope, a Senior Regional Manager, at Verbal Behavior Associates about what their day to day work looks like as well as requirements and expectations of being a Behavior Interventionist.

We learned about Michael Flynn's GRE Prep Workshop and some tips and tricks to taking the GRE.
